Incumbent can be located anywhere within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Remote work options may be available outside of the 4-state footprint upon further review during the interview process.

Job Title: Quality Engineer

A Quality Engineer at Arvest is responsible for understanding the business requirements and the team’s associated technology solutions. They consistently develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. Quality Engineers are a part of a larger, cross-functional team with the goal to recommend and influence the product team to improve scripts, resulting in greater engineering efficiencies and the reduction of time-to-market for Arvest’s current and future applications. They will lead and execute quality activities for moderately complex products.

What You’ll Do at Arvest:

• Own feature testing by driving the creation, maintenance, execution, and documenting results on moderate complex projects.

• Coordinate multiple and changing priorities while driving quality.

• Assist on projects by defining scope, reviewing requirements and technical documentation, and implementing the testing framework.

• Share knowledge effectively and support project teams by assuring all project deliverables meet quality standards.

• Execute test cases to ensure compliance with project objectives.

• Recognize and resolve blockers in a timely manner.

• Review quality management processes, identify potential gaps and propose solutions.

• Track and log defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement improvements with developers and other project team members.

• Participate and assist in systems implementations using in-depth knowledge of best practice quality assurance processes.

• Partner with stakeholders to clarify business needs and to resolve project issues.

  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.


Responsibilities:

Toolbox for Success:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of technical education and work or military experience required

• 2 years of relevant testing experience required

• Basic programming skills

• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• Understanding and awareness of the following is required:

  • Root cause analysis
  • Risk assessment
  • Web, Mobile and API testing frameworks
  • Agile process
  • Basic development practices (SDLC, IDE, source control, unit testing and quality standards)
  • Test methodologies (regression, end-to-end, exploratory, boundary, etc.)

• Relevant military experience is considered for veterans and transitioning service members

Preferred Skills:

• Financial/Banking experience

• Relevant professional certifications such as ISTQB CTFL, CSTE, or CSQA

• Knowledge in API calls through jar and capture response

• Experience in Source Code Management tools (git, gitHub, BitBucket and TFS version control)

• Experience in defect/test management tools (Bugzilla, HP Quality Center, and Azure DevOps)
