Position Overview

This position exists to manage, supervise, and/or coordinate all quality control related activities of plant processes including but not limited to lab staff engaged in performing quality testing and reporting.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and ensures a safe work environment for all Associates.
• Direct and advise staff in standard test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of raw and finished materials.
• Monitor and analyze test information to assist in maintaining process equipment operating consistency.
• Monitor quality of manufactured products and review roll test data certifications to ensure specification conformance to customer. Serve a backup Develop, maintain, and enforce lab standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate job specific sampling and testing requirements with 3rd party testing firms.
• Ensures the Kingstree facility complies with ISO 9001 process. Ensures the Kingstree Quality Laboratory complies and maintains certifications for GAI-LAP.
• Maintain lab testing, reporting and procedures with regard to ISO 9001 requirements.
• Promotes quality improvement through teams and any other necessary means to increase quality awareness in Manufacturing areas.
• Lead non-conforming investigations, problem solving, continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensures adequate resources, including testing and test equipment, are available within the Jefferson facility.
• Supervise assigned staff.

Other Job Functions

• Serve as plant management representative for GRI, GAI-LAP, ISO, and other certifications.
• Participate in ASTM standard review and committees.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum education required: 4 year college degree (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum experience required: 3 - 5 years of quality management experience
• Description of working conditions/physical surroundings: Office and plant environment
• Shift work: M-F, 8 AM – 5 PM
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in a plant environment utilizing six sigma, 5S, Kaizen a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
