Job description

JOB STATEMENT: A QA Technician must be familiar with all QA tasks and protocols in order to assure the product produced and bottled by (and/or for) Bronco Wine Company meets Government, Customer and Company specifications. It is imperative that a Lab Technician can operate all lab equipment, assist and train others in its operation, work independently or with minimal supervision after initial training completion. Have the ability to maintain a clean, organized work area, write in a clear, concise manner and maintain a high level of accuracy in all paperwork.


Essential Duties:

  • Understand and comply with all ISO9001, HACCP and GMP requirements and processes
  • Line preparation, pre-line checks and perform line inspections to monitor production.
  • Conduct Audits
  • Knowledge of Cellar, Analytical and Production operations as they pertain to the QA Lab
  • Collection of micro samples
  • Perform incoming packaging material inspections
  • Entering and reporting data in the database /logs.
  • Approving shipping blends to bottling facilities.
  • Hold defective product.
  • Communicate and Interact with bottling personnel, bottling supervisors, maintenance and Cellar
  • Monitor library samples and maintain the R& D room
  • Maintain files of government approvals for vintage wine production labels
  • Lab maintenance and cleaning
  • Communicate (verbal and/ or written) any areas of concerns
  • Perform monthly safety inspections
  • Other duties as assigned by the Management
Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
  • 1 – 2 years lab experience
  • Knowledge and/ or experience in a production environment
  • An understanding of English, Math and Science

Knowledge of:

  • Familiarity and enforcement with BTQC/ Bronco QA Procedures
  • Cellar, Analytical and Production operations as they pertain to the QA Lab
  • Familiarity and enforcement of safety rules, PPE, SDS and procedures
  • Line Preparation, Pre-Line check, Line checks and Winemaker samples, receiving incoming samples

Ability to:

  • Inform lab personnel with respect to primary QA tasks, paperwork and safety regulations
  • Spot and prevent potential quality problems
  • Conduct lab maintenance and cleaning schedule
  • Maintain files and prepare blank forms
  • Audit finished product and generate audit reports
  • Trouble shoot
  • Mutli-task
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Strong skills in Microsoft

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently sitting/walking
  • Lift up to 40 lbs cases occasionally
  • Use hands to grasp, feel, move, reach and/ or assemble

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Limited noise level
  • Indoor climate

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

  • Side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection and proper footwear when in production facility
