API International is a family business that was established in Portland, Oregon in 1979. We are a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of flanges, expansion joints, valves, other pipe fittings and custom fabricated parts for the Agriculture, Exhaust, HVAC and Water Works markets.

The Purchasing Assistant supports the company by assistant the Logistics Coordinator, expediting and ensuring suppliers ship POs on time. They will also communicate with sales personnel regarding updates to any urgent shipments or parts. The Purchasing Assistant will also maintain the department SOP.

A typical day:

· Send out shipment notices within the company for new shipments or shipments with updated ETA's

· Assist with shipment-related internal documentation tasks

· Maintain and update Estimated Time of Departures & Arrivals in ERP system; communicate with internal departments regarding delivery status and delays

· Communicate with international suppliers for urgent parts and late POs

· Review shipping documents from suppliers for accuracy

· Maintain records of completed shipments to comply with customs filing & record-keeping requirements

· Assist in process flow and writing SOP

The ideal candidate:

· 1+ years of Administration experience

· Experience with MS Office Suite applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)

· 1-2 years of logistics experience is preferred

· 1-2 years of inventory or purchasing experience is preferred

· Team player with the ability to work closely with others.

· Ability to communicate and promote ideas and share knowledge with others

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English a must.

· Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize workload.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
