As part of the HersheyparkⓇ Entertainment Complex Security Team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of all guests, employees, and physical assets of the HersheyparkⓇEntertainment Complex; In addition to providing our guests with exceptional customer service and gaining knowledge of specific job duties. Additionally, our Safety & Security Department offers year round job opportunities working within all areas of our HersheyparkⓇEntertainment Complex locations: ZooAmericaⓇ, HersheyparkⓇ Stadium, HersheyparkⓇ Arena, GIANT CenterⓇ and Hershey Theatre where you will be able to work a variety of events and work with great team members.

This position may provide care, supervision, guidance, or control of children or may have regular, ongoing contact with children that is integral to the responsibilities of the position. As a result, in accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, newly hired candidates are required to obtain the following clearances: a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse), and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI). Completed clearances are required to be submitted prior to starting employment.

Job Functions:

• Providing exemplary service to guests and team members.
• Supervise and oversee Security operations for an assigned event and/ or venue in conjunction with Security Management.
• Initiate emergency response measures by means of responding and reacting to unsafe conditions and emergency situations. Manage deployment of security personnel and equipment to provide effective and efficient operations during incidents.
• Assess, investigate, resolve and contain situations, while taking appropriate actions based upon Company policy and procedures, as well as training.
• Provide high visibility patrols of buildings and grounds and control vehicle/pedestrian traffic when necessary.
• Monitor team member and guest activity while ensuring that all Company policies and procedures are being followed.
• Create timely, thorough and accurate incident reports in an incident tracking system.
• Monitor crowd behavior and movement and take proactive measures to mitigate risk.
• Assist in traffic control as needed.
• Communicate regularly with Security Management regarding operational issues to include team member or guest concerns, losses and unusual situations.
• Communicate with Security Officers and provide coaching and training while on his/her shift.
• Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to, use of personal protective equipment, lifting and reporting of unsafe situations.
• Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the HersheyⓇ Entertainment and Resorts appearance standards.
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other departments and support teams.
• Interact with guests/ team members/ emergency responders in a calm, professional manner in all situations.
• Provide recognition and appreciation to team members.
• Perform and complete assigned tasks from management as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 Years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma

Additional Qualifications:

• Prior security experience is preferred.
• Criminal justice/safety/security-related training and experience preferred.
• Must be friendly, upbeat, and work well with other employees and be able to interact well with our guests.
• Must be able to work with large crowds in a fast paced environment.
• Must be innovative and self motivated to complete tasks.
• Must have the ability to make sound decisions independently.
• Must have proficient computer and word processing skills.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shifts.
• Must be able to speak, write, and understand English.
• Report writing experience is preferred.
• Must be detailed oriented and have clear written and verbal communications skills.
• Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines.
• Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information.
• Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company, and department training requirements, to include, but not limited to, passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
• Must provide a minimum availability of at least three (3) shifts per week to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours may vary based on business and operational demand.
• Must be able to work in a combination of indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
• Must be able to stand, bend, and walk unassisted for up to 8 hours.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to a minimum of 50 pounds.
