Join The Help Group’s PIER Team! We are seeking a bright, dynamic, qualified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to serve as a member of our PIER Team in the Culver City and greater Los Angeles area.

The PIER Early Psychosis Program targets adolescents and young adults between the ages of 12 and 25. The treatment integrates community outreach, education and networking with clinical services delivered by PIER teams. The focus of the teams is to reduce the incidence of first-episode psychosis in consumers with clinical high risk for psychosis, as well as to reduce potential long-term disability in this population. Teams will consist of dedicated staff that will be trained on the Portland Identification and Early Referral (PIER) Program model.

WHAT THE HELP GROUP IS LOOKING FOR:

• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner must hold and maintain an American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) advanced level certification PMHNP-BC for child/adolescent or family
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in working with children and transitional-aged youth (TAY) clients
• Knowledge of use of psychotropic medication with adolescent psychiatric population
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills necessary for cooperative working relationship with all levels of professional staff
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
• Valid CA driver license, minimum of 3 years of driving experience, clean driving record and reliable personal vehicle to provide in-home service to families

EXCITING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively participating and engaging in community outreach to identify schools, service providers, cultural and religious organizations, etc., that have contacts with youth 12-25 years and providing psycho-education on recognizing symptoms of risk for psychosis to generate PIER referrals
• Providing intensive medication support as trained in the PIER Model, in close collaboration with the PIER Program Coordinator and under the supervision of the PIER Program Psychiatrist
• Collaborating with PIER Team in screening, enrolling and assessing clients’ needs; conducting full clinical assessment in collaboration with psychiatric supports; facilitating development of clients’ crisis and safety plan and providing crisis intervention to clients on an as-needed basis
• Developing and implementing a treatment plan for each assigned client; collaborating and coordinating treatment with supportive services which may include Vocational/Educational/Occupational therapy to help support educational or employment goals, case management for linkage to social services and peer support in the needed areas
• Delivering services in clinic or home/community settings
