Job Duties:

· Assist in completing the following documentation: Admission Note, Nursing Assessment, Pre-Screen Testing

· Performs Psychiatric Evaluations for clients.

· Transcribes Physician’s Orders and Implements all Medical Protocols as ordered.

· Confers with and assists the Medical Doctor and or Psychiatrist.

· Makes appropriate referrals using referral forms.

· Attends and participate in all “in-service” functions.

· Assists with emergency situations and makes immediate referrals.

· Provides documentation which reflects services for each client in accordance with licensure standards.

· Maintains the Confidential nature of all clients and facility activities.

· Maintains required Training and Continuing Education.

· Maintains Standards of Ethical Conduct.

· Complies with all Banyan Treatment Center IL, LLC Policies and Procedures.

· Performs any other tasks outlined in accordance with DASA 2060.

· Meets with clients requesting to see the doctor to determine the urgency of their medical needs and expedite treatment as required.

· Effectively communicates concerns about client health to the Clinical director and follows up as necessary.

· Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, assists in educating clients about health problems and medical care.

· Facilitates medication education for new clients and for all other clients starting new medications.

· Meets with therapists to provide information about client medical problems.

· Assists the treatment team in incorporating medical issues into treatment planning.

· Takes verbal orders from the Doctor or Clinical Director, documents them in the client record, and carries them out accurately and professionally.

· Provides routine psychiatric care under the supervision of the Medical Doctor.

· Participates in regular meetings with Clinical Director to discuss specific client problems.

· Participate in regular department meetings and staff meetings.

· Encourages efficient utilization of supplies and equipment to prevent waste.

· Maintains effective communication between outside medical services and the facility.

· Keeps and shares records and equipment

· Attends in-service education programs as assigned to learn new forms, procedures, developmental skills.

· Has good work habits; gets things done in a timely, efficient manner with no excessive absences, is on time for scheduled shifts, and is prepared to begin work.

· Functions as a team member and contributes positively to the morale of staff.

· Performs additional duties, as deemed necessary, by supervisor.

· Maintains up to date training in CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Fire Safety, and other areas mandated by organizational policies.

· Communicates effectively with other staff members and demonstrates the ability to work as a team.

· Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, responding positively to changing situations in the work setting.

· Demonstrates objectivity and maturity under stress.

· Accepts and utilizes supervision.

· Addresses problems noted by supervisor.

· Performs other assignments as requested by supervisor.

· Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility.

· Completes all tasks with concern for work quality.

· Developing Policies and Procedures as appropriate

· Completes Psychiatric Screens documenting in EMR each visit.

· Sees clients for Medication Management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Graduate from an accredited college or university with a major course work in nursing.

· A minimum of 2 years Nursing experience, with an exposure to chemical dependency and/or dual diagnosed clients, preferably in an in-patient setting.

· Licensed as a PNP in the state of Florida and maintain current licensure per state requirements.

· Maintains current CPR certification

· Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality Laws.

· Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.

· Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

· Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program.

· Knowledge of current utilized technology.

· Knowledge of DSM V

· Demonstrate Competencies in assessing:

o Mental Health

o Trauma – Abuse – Neglect – Exploitation

o Suicide – Homicide

o Others TBD…

· Knowledge of Banyan Treatment Center’s Policies & Procedures

· Knowledge of Clinical Chart Requirements for All Applicable Levels of Care with Chart Audit Capabilities Knowledge of Safety Management / Infection / Risk Management.

Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with patients and their families, display good listening and observation skills, exhibit skills sufficient to adequately gather and record patient data specific to current and past medical status, and form objective impression of signs, symptoms and patient complaints and their implications concerning treatment planning. Additionally, candidate will exhibit the ability to be empathetic and understanding of patient needs. Ability to accurately document in EMR required.
