Salary/Compensation Statement:
  • Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $45,678 – $66,988
  • New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this classification with the same or greater number of years’ relevant experience.
  • Lane’s robust Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental and vision insurance, basic term life insurance, long term disability, vacation leave, personal time and paid sick leave.
  • Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions regarding your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or to the US Department of Education.

Required QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree with course work or training in comprehensive program management, social work, psychology, business, human resources, education, marketing or a related field.

Required Experience:
  • Two (2) years of experience in case management, employment services, recruitment or training programs.
  • A current Oregon driver’s license.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered qualifying.

Position Purpose:
Position works with Health Profession programs to facilitate community and outreach activities and support program activities for students. Supports division deans and program leaders and faculty in coordinating educational, clerical, and community participation. Provide support and contact with various external and campus partners for Health Professions specifically related to intergovernmental agreements, contract, promotional, and high school visits. Facilitate the community presence of the programs and division.

Essential Functions:
  • Works with participants both individually and in groups to discuss academic planning, orientation to college, development of training plans/goals and career goals.
  • Tracks and monitors student progress.
  • Assists students in the removal of barriers to their remaining in school.
  • Collaborates with faculty and deans to develop curriculum to meet state guidelines.
  • Works with Health Professions advisory committees, staff and community leaders in developing new opportunities and coordinating existing educational activities for Health Professions students.
  • Orients participants.
  • Provides individual tutoring.
  • Selects and orders books and other course materials.
  • Collaborates to prepares course syllabi and other materials.
  • Arranges for hourly instructors as needed.
  • Identifies participant support and training needs.
  • Monitors student’s progress during Health Professions work experience.
  • Facilitates development and completion of internal and external agreements between the department and community, business, and educational partners.
  • Maintains all paperwork required by State and federal regulations and prudent business practices.
  • Gathers materials and writes reports for funding agencies.
  • Acts as a liaison between a program and community members, the media, outside agencies and other departments on campus.
  • Establishes networks with other community agencies.
  • Monitors, evaluates and assesses current policies and procedures and develops/implements changes.
  • Incorporates new regulations and activities into current policy.
  • Coordinates and confers with all staff to ensure consistency of service provisions.
  • Designs, implements and coordinates specialized training modules.
  • Develops, researches and writes grants.
  • Participate with college and community partners to promote Health Profession programs and facilitate student enrollment.
  • Performs market research through contacts with local businesses and employers.
  • Contacts employers by phone, correspondence or personal visit to determine current and future job community and program offerings related to Health Professions.
  • Develops and implements marketing plan and markets various programs to employers, students and agencies.
  • Develops brochures, flyers, newsletters, reports, advertisements and press releases.
  • Plans and executes promotional activities.
  • Coordinates with college recruitment to facilitate on and off-campus student outreach and recruitment activities.
  • Problem solve and manage sensitive information with appropriate awareness of FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the privacy needs of students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision Statement:
Reports to the Dean for Health Professions, Health and Physical Education. Assignments are received in the form of basic guidelines with the employee expected to work independently towards the attainment of program goals and objectives. Work is reviewed by the supervisor through verbal updates and periodic conferences for progress towards program goals.

Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that includes office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires than an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work more than six (6) hours a day. Work may require transporting up to sixty (60) pounds.
