Summary
The College of Engineering Aerospace Department is seeking a part-time events assistant to plan, coordinate and assist with student-facing department events. Projects would include logistics, catering coordination, event set up and staffing, communication needs to promote programs, and developing ideas for future programs.

Responsibilities*
In coordination with Academic Services Office (ASO) team: plan and place orders for catering and other reservations as needed
Research vendor options - (catering, swag purchasing...etc)
Add events to weekly department newsletter content spreadsheet, FXB TV monitors content drive and Happening at Michigan calendar
Make arrangements for Zoom presentations
Take photos at events for sharing on social media and in department publications
Provide feedback on event ideas to ensure robust student engagement
Place work tickets for tech support help with facilities
Assist set-up, staffing and clean-up
Coordinate with ASO and/or procurement staff to gather information needed for event expense reimbursement ( tracking event signins, collecting receipts...etc)
Gather materials for tabling events (such as swag from basement, tablecloths from 3rd floor...etc) for a go kit for ASO staff
Create and manage event sign-up forms and RSVP lists
Project coordination - communicate with event participants as needed, send reminders, answer basic inquiries, and elevate issues for prompt resolution; participate as a member of the ASO team by sharing ideas and feedback to ASO lead
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications*
Event planning experience is required.
Work Schedule
The Engineering College at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor operates in a hybrid work environment consisting of both in-person and remote work.
This temporary position is required to be on North campus, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in person 2-3 times per week and as required during events/programs.

This is a six month term limited temporary position with possibility of extension. Current term limited needs are January 3, 2023 through June 30, 2023.
