Salary range for this position is: $49,336/yr. - $64,712/yr. (depending on experience)

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Under the supervision of the Director of Student Leadership, the Information Central Program Manager will be responsible for the daily operation of a student-driven information center (InfoCentral), which provides general information to new and current students, the public, faculty and staff, making referrals to other offices and departments. This position also is responsible for facilitating communication to students across various communication platforms and marketing tools. This incumbent is a member of the Student Leadership team actively promoting student engagement on campus and developing student leaders.

This position directs the work of approximately 12 hourly student employees, 2-3 hourly employees, and 4-6 volunteers annually.

What you will be working on:

Information Central Management (30%)

  • Hire, train, supervise, and mentor hourly staff, work-study, & student volunteers (Student Ambassadors) working for Information Central.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities including: creating weekly work schedules, approve schedule changes, running staff meetings and staff trainings, approving timesheets, troubleshooting, request keycard access, quarterly and annual reporting, data collection, customer service satisfaction surveys. etc
  • Develop and update, office manuals, directories, guidelines and procedures.
  • Develop & administer Information Central Budget (approx. $70K): create and submit annual S&A budget proposals; track expenditures, monitor budget balances, authorize expenditures for supplies, travel, and professional development.
  • Interpret & advise on institutional policies, procedures regarding enrollment, instruction, student services, administrative departments, referrals and general information
  • Support New Student Orientation by providing student staff and volunteers to lead campus tours

Student Marketing & Communications Coordination (30%)

  • Oversee campus communication regarding student engagement and leadership opportunities; working alongside Marketing & Communication/PIO, support coordinated efforts to effectively communicate with student body.
  • Promote and administer the use of Student Leadership/Seattle Central mobile app and other social media tools; oversee student engagement and student leadership posts and communications; report technical errors and request updates. Oversee Student Leadership digital signage and display monitors; creating content and uploading student engagement and leadership opportunities; monitor technical issues; communicate with IT
  • Direct the approval, distribution, and removal of campus posters/flyers/signage in/around Broadway Edison Complex; Update posting policy, procedures and communicate guidelines to campus; oversee maintenance of open public posting and Student Leadership bulletin boards.

Welcome Desk Services (20%)

  • Lead and create the operational plan of the Seattle Central Welcome Desk, located at the main entrance of 1701 Broadway Edison building
  • Support student staff at the Welcome Desk to provide quick, courteous, accurate information, directions, and/or way-finding; the Welcome Desk will become a first point of contact and good first impressions will be important Create content and helpful displays to assist students, employees and community visitors.

Administrative/Departmental Functions (20%)

  • Attend weekly Student Leadership Staff meetings
  • Work with Student Leadership Director to set departmental/programmatic goals; coordination of department signature events such as Welcome Weeks, Student Leadership Institutes, Joy of the Peace, Winter Retreats, & Spring Recognition Dinner.
  • Work with Student Leadership Advisors for student staff recruitment, selection, onboarding, orientation and training seasons (typically held during Spring, Summer, & Fall quarters)

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)

  • Associates, Bachelors, or Master’s Degree
  • Demonstrated experience working in a community college environment
  • Demonstrated experience and/or skills in student leadership development, customer service, student affairs, or organizational structures/systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse populations with an equity and inclusion framework
  • Demonstrated experience training and supervising student employees
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital, social media platforms and/or marketing/communication principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully on multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience using a computer, using Microsoft Office, including word, excel, outlook and Microsoft Teams
  • Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Organizational and planning skills

Physical Requirements:

The position

  • Typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office.
  • Encounters frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
  • Is regularly required to provide 1:1 support, present to small groups, and work at a computer exercising repetitive hand motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
