Ability to work independently, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Willingness to work with budgets.
Willingness to learn project management software.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting submission of grant proposals to federal and local agencies.
Experience preparing project reports.
Experience developing web content.

The new Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) Urban Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) project, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Center for Changing Landscapes (CCL) are seeking a Program Coordinator to provide administrative and communications support for research and outreach projects. The position will manage project proposals and awards, organize internal and external project communications, schedule and coordinate meetings/events for a network of scholars and partners, and support written and oral research reporting. The position is a joint position between LTER and CCL and reports to Professor Sarah Hobbie, LTER Principal Investigator, Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior (EEB) and Professor Mae Davenport, CCL Director, Department of Forest Resources. This position requires the ability to work well in ambiguity, independently, and as part of a team. The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented in the context of the bigger picture to maintain productive and positive operations of the projects, and will also have good writing, editing, and organizational skills in creating communications content for the general public.

20% Manage research budgets, user, research, and publications data and assist with summarizing and incorporating these into budget plans, reports, and proposals.

40% Provide general planning and administrative support to MSP and CCL investigators and conduct other duties as assigned including managing budgets, writing reports and proposals. Assist with general operational and maintenance duties as needed. Organize and provide logistical support for online and in-person meetings. Exact duties will depend on the grant cycle.

40% Coordinate communication efforts for MSP LTER and CCL, including internal communications and communications to external audiences. Prepare and disseminate newsletters, regularly revise and update the website, and maintain a social media presence.
