POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Installation Project Manager

Reports to: Head of Installation

Job Status: Full-time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Installation

Positions Supervised: Installation Crew

Work Schedule: Varies

Standard 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Position summary
The Installation Project Manager position is responsible for providing support to Installation Technicians to ensure proper execution and implementation of the installation project plan, including completion of technical installation and management of audiovisual systems by the on-site installation team. The position requires managing daily work tasks as outlined in the project plan and representing the company as the project secondary point of contact.

  • Provide leadership to the team of installation technicians, in addition to mentoring others as needed.
  • Supervise install technicians during assigned install projects.
  • Ensure installation of audio video products to business requirements/specifications, including performing onsite installation activities as needed.
  • Coordinate available labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and technical expertise needed for the project.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics Technician to identify materials needed to be prepared for the Installation Team to have onsite for project installations.
  • Review project details to coordinate with the Installation Manager and Purchasing Representative to ensure all required materials are ordered for projects.
  • Maintain contact with Purchasing and Logistics representatives to verify materials are received and discuss alternative solutions as necessary when items are on backorder or no longer available.
  • Interact with the Drafting Team to ensure drawings are set up as required.
  • Act as a resource for the Drafting team to answer questions as drawings are being prepared, either by providing a response or contacting the Project Manager for further guidance.
  • Become familiar with project plans and approved scope of work and contract.
  • Inform Project TEem of potential risks or issues affecting the project life-cycle.
  • Perform site visits in the pre-planning phase as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to standards for safety and quality
  • Travel required, including non-local travel which may require evening and weekend work.
  • Assist with developing installation standards and adhering to them.

Secondary functions
At times, an individual in this position may be assigned a various role specific to various projects. An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the project specific tasks associated with project specific role that may or may not align with essential functions listed above.

  • Log personal work time and project information into Q360.
  • Attend construction on-site and remote meetings as needed.
  • Ensure the health and welfare of project teams on-site and at the warehouse.
  • Help motivate team members through promoting a positive work environment and setting a good example.

Knowledge & Skills

  • At least 3 years of audio-visual industry commercial installation experience. Prefer experience at senior installer level.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting (not programming) Crestron, AMX and Extron audiovisual control systems
  • Recent and current hands on experience installing audio visual equipment including flat panel displays, video walls, speakers video conferencing systems and control systems.
  • Recent hands on experience with racking (fabricating and mounting), pulling/crimping/terminating cables and connecting components as required by blueprints and designs.
  • Knowledge of system commissioning.
  • Ability to read blueprints and install equipment to specifications required.
  • Must have experience in electro-mechanical audio/video component installation.
  • Ability to drive company vehicle and maintain an acceptable driving record, per company policy
  • Understand and speak English.
