JOB SUMMARY

The Receiving Lead is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received from suppliers to the production screen print crew(s), ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so garments and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Provide leadership and accountability for the successful day-to-day receiving operations.

2. Ability to handle periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep production operating to standard when volume decreases.

3. Oversees the receipt, verification, and stocking of incoming materials, as well as inventory control.

4. Participate in the improvement of processes and procedures designed to enhance efficiency, product quality, and team member satisfaction.

5. Review receiving goals and communicate goals to staff; ensure goals are met.

6. Set department priorities.

7. Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner.

8. Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary.

9. Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received.

10. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.

11. Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directs Production Warehouse Receiving Clerks acting as a lead.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma/GED required

· 3 - 5 years’ in warehousing, receiving, inventory control or material management in a manufacturing environment

· Must possess an understanding of OSHA safety rules for warehouse work

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time unassisted

· Knowledge of receiving and inventory process.

· Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

· Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most of the time will be spent in a warehouse environment, however there may be extremes in hot or cold temperatures. Work will be performed near moving machines. There will be exposure to hazardous chemicals, dust, fumes, high noise levels, natural gasses, odors, dirt and dust.

The normal workday at the warehouse will be 8 hours between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM. Monday - Friday and some Saturday’s. Occasionally hours may be longer as needed to meet customer order deadlines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Lift, carry, position or move objects weighing 50 – 100 pounds. Frequently bends, kneels and crouches. Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs pushing and lifting merchandise boxes. Continuous walking, standing and moving about.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
