Description


NTN Driveshaft, a world leader in constant velocity technology for the automotive industry, is currently seeking a qualified Production Control Scheduler for our Columbus Indiana operation. NTN currently has 2,000 employees working in our Columbus operation and customer demand for our product is growing rapidly. NTN Driveshaft manufactures Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) for all of the major automotive companies. These customers include Honda, Ford, Toyota, GM, Chrysler and most other automotive OEMs.


PRODUCTION CONTROL SCHEDULER


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of industrial or commercial products: Creates Process Schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of fabrication and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department Supervisors and Managers to determine status of planned and released schedules.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • May prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Assign production in order to reduce the costs of the company, as well as be able to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Reviews and works parts weekly and continually monitors the production process and suggests process improvements.
  • Schedule the production process and production departments synchronously according to material, employee and availability of equipment.
  • Support new product development through cooperative scheduling of model introductions, end of life and prototype processing with the potential suppliers.

Requirements include:


  • Bachelor’s Degree/ *CPIM /** APICS certified preferred with five years of supply chain planning, purchasing, transportation, operations scheduling, logistics and/or inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficient in J.D. Edwards and/or comparable ERP software
  • Professional written and oral communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities
  • Strong problem solving and mathematical skills.
  • Lean/Synchronous Manufacturing understanding a must

  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management
