Customer Focus: Has an in-depth understanding of customer use cases, leveraging analytics, and other insights to better understand customer needs. Maintains close contact with customers to gain a sense for where the market is moving and to draw insights among multiple external events and understands competitors and regulatory/legislative environment.

Data-Driven Decision-Making & Analysis: Leverages metrics to track progress on customer needs and ensure that product efforts move those metrics. Is proficient at pulling and accessing data from multiple sources, and manage through data ambiguity, identifying the most important data to consider and set KPIs, priorities and dashboards.

Go to Market & Product Management Lifecycle: oversees development of clear go to market launch plans through coordination with external customer facing teams such as marketing and sales. Drafts training, marketing and sales collateral and coaches’ others on the same and is independently accountable for portions of launch and strategy execution as assigned.

Product Delivery & Development Lifecycle: Has a thorough understanding of the broader product experience, ensuring team is focusing on driving key metrics to deliver customer value. Has a thorough understanding of the company's agile processes.

Strategy & Commercial Acumen: Ability to interpret current and proposed legislation, assess risk to the product suite and communicate cross functionally and to the senior leadership team. Has ability to understand state legislative processes and experience navigating legislative sessions.

Technical Skills: Understands company technology stack at a high level, for the broader product. Is comfortable analyzing data using existing software packages (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, etc.), utilizes or extends the company's platform and underlying technologies to create new product features.
Daily:
  • Work with internal and external customers ensuring they understand the product and its benefits.
  • Analyze data trends and determine product enhancements needed based on data trends.
  • Document product enhancements and work closely with technology to build product enhancements.
  • Research product functionality issues and work closely with technology to implement fixes.
  • Research the competition and document differences.
  • Research and track legislation and use findings from research to document potential product enhancements.
  • Analyze state risk profiles to determine potential roadblocks.
  • Review data daily, ensuring its accuracy.
Ideal candidate is a quick learner, can operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables, is detail oriented, can work well in a team environment as well as work independently, can work well with internal and external customers, and possess a sense of urgency. Exhibits a can-do attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of product management and/or business operations experience.
  • Legislative experience preferred but not required.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Excel required.
  • Experience in Salesforce, Confluence, Jira and/or PowerBI preferred, but not required.
  • BA/BS, JD, or MBA, preferred, high school diploma required
