Produce Buyer opportunity

Responsibilities

· Gathering multiple quotes when buying product

· Paying attention to the quality of product purchased

· Ensure that transportation is booked at a competitive price and that logistical efficiencies are utilized

· Review open/consigned/inspected files before settlement to ensure that all market conditions are capitalized upon

· Assist in the development and maintenance of long-term, sustainable, and effective relationships with suppliers as needed

· Analyze data outputs to provide feedback and corrective actions

· Assist across departments as needed

· Collaborate in sales department initiatives to maximize competitive advantages “on the street”

· Strong communication skills via phone and email required.

Qualification and Requirements

· Procurement experience required – Preferably in produce

· Tenacity and dynamic personality

· Ability to juggle many functions simultaneously

· Experience with data entry and computer operation

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook

· Focused and outgoing personality

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• New Haven, CT: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
