Premier, successful automotive supplier is seeking a Process Launch Engineer to work within their production focused engineering team. The Process Launch Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:

Premier, successful automotive supplier is seeking a Process Launch Engineer to work within their production focused engineering team. The Process Launch Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Assist with new model launch activities and capital equipment projects related to new programs
- Participate in trial runs, runoffs and process trials
- Prepare the manufacturing plant for new model launch, including completing line and/or cell layouts, determining material flow and spare parts inventory, etc.
- Utilize 2D CAD to complete line layouts and design fixtures, jigs and tables
- Facilitate and maintain internal and external communication to ensure that timelines are on target and goals of the launch are being attained
- Support heavily automated manufacturing lines, including vision systems, HMIs, PLCs and robotics
- Manage launch activity for multiple projects at a time
- Support manufacturing by offering mechanical troubleshooting support when needed
- Monitoring production numbers and KPIs and completing engineering reports as needed
- Oversee continuous improvement and scrap reductions for production areas
- Other engineering tasks as assigned
Candidates must be able to communicate directly and effectively at all levels, be self-motivated, take initiative on projects, work on multiple tasks and be hands on and flexible. This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 10-20% of their day and complete as needed day trips to suppliers and tooling shops. REQUIREMENTS for the Process Launch Engineer:
1. Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
2. At least four years in a similar process, manufacturing and/or launch engineering position
3. Experience supporting automotive launch activities at the plant level
4. Experience with 2D CAD to complete line layouts, cell layout, table design, fixtures, jigs, etc.
REQUIREMENTS for the Process Launch Engineer:
1. Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred
2. At least four years in a similar process, manufacturing and/or launch engineering position
3. Experience supporting automotive launch activities at the plant level
4. Experience with 2D CAD to complete line layouts, cell layout, table design, fixtures, jigs, etc.
5. Strong mechanical aptitude
6. Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Strong continuous improvement initiatives
2. Microsoft Project
