Please be advised that this role is also a hands-on development position where the proper candidate will be involved with architecting, developing, implementing, deploying, and supporting custom internally developed software.

Desired Candidate Characteristics

  • “.NET with DevOps” professional with 8+ years’ of experience in all phases of SDLC involving Analysis, Design, Development, Deployment, Testing and Implementation of Web & Client/ Server applications using .NET and Java.
  • Experience in Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), DevOps, Configuration management, Infrastructure automation, Continuous integration and Delivery (CI/CD). Can implement effective strategies for N- Tier application development in both cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Experience in web development, application development using Visual Studio .NET technologies like C#, ASP.NETMVC 5, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML Web services, WCF and WPF
  • Experience in Jenkins or similar tools for continuous integration and end to end automation of all build and deployments.
  • Experience in using/managing source code repositories like SVN, TFS, GIT, GitHub, Bitbucket.
  • Project Management skills, and experience with agile and scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and of computer systems validation (CSV)
  • Able to collaborate across multiple teams
  • Experience with creating architectural diagrams/understanding of infrastructure setups/managing deployments ranging with varying complexities.
  • Knowledge in programming languages such as .Net, Java/JSP, J2EE, XML, SOAP, JSON/REST services, Python and PL/SQL.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS/RDS such as Oracle, SQL server and PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra
  • Knowledge of integration technologies such as WebMethods.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and the AngularJS framework is a plus
  • Experience in Agile software development, Service-oriented architectures, Continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the development and production support and life cycle management for multiple laboratory information management systems used by Pharmaceutical Development and Global supplies within GPS.
  • Collaborate with Business and IT Plan functions to develop solutions for business problems including defining business requirements, provide project timelines and budget, develop acceptance criteria, testing, training, and change management plans.
  • Contributes heavily towards developing a plan for development activities and translates those into actionable projects. These include releases, required modifications and discretionary enhancements to support the application life cycle.
  • Collaborate directly with the business clients, IT Business Partners and other IT functions on delivery of digital capabilities.
  • Take complete ownership of releases from design till deployment and successful production run. This includes coordination with Ops team to deploy applications to various environments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Requires advanced knowledge applicable to a wide range of work in own function and thorough knowledge of other functions, typically gained through a university degree and 6-8 years of experience.
  • May lead initiatives related to continuous improvement or implementation of new technologies. Works independently on most deliverables.
  • Coordinate with offshore teams ensuring that all team members are successful in their delivery of services to the business.
  • Demonstrates ability to build and leverage relationships through diplomacy with a broader focus within the Function.
  • Articulates and presents complex information clearly and concisely across all levels. Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and expertise thereby establishing a strong reputation for themselves and the team.
  • Participates in decision making and brings a variety of strong views and perspective to achieve team objectives.
  • Looks for challenging opportunities and focus on building strong capabilities. Encourages and coach others to do the same.
