Job Description


The Pricing Analyst leads the consulting process with colleagues in Sales and Client Strategy to determine optimal approach to win, retain, and grow client relationships. Serves as a critical liaison between additional business functions to include Finance, Operations/Engineering, Marketing and Legal to ensure compliance with internal policies and financial targets. Leads the decision-making process around client-specific pricing (deal structure, price adjustments, incentives, etc.). Monitors, communicates, and responds to competitive pricing activity. Reports to the Executive Director of Client Strategy.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as subject matter expert for execution of pricing strategies for check business - new wins and contract extensions.
  • Communicates significant market activity/trends to department manager.
  • Ensures all deals obtain proper financial approval from HC management, per established approval/authority process.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to improve revenue and profit margins through creative pricing strategy and identification of client needs (i.e., identification and referral of solution opportunities to appropriate sales/marketing peers).

Qualifications


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Demonstrated education in the field of pricing also preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years in a pricing or related finance role, with demonstrated expansion of duties over time.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong communication skills are a must-have.
  • Organization building skills to include interactions/networking with internal processes - Sales, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Legal, etc.
  • Ability to gain buy-in and commitment from internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Speed and responsiveness in the resolution of issues.
  • Dedication and commitment to top-quality service and to meeting customer expectations.
  • Strong perspective, understanding, and sensitivity towards company business issues.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Position will have continuous contact with clients and their agents, and multiple areas in the company to include: Field Sales, Sales Management, Account Management, and various other internal departments.

DECISION MAKING

  • Position will have latitude to guide the development of financial deals, within established company guidelines, which directly impact company profitability.

  • Direct decision making and indirect decision making requirements are defined in most current approval guidelines matrix.

OTHER

  • Position may require infrequent travel.

Base Salary: $70,000-$80,000

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
