Preventative Maintenance Assistant
Job description
Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, this position is responsible providing preventative maintenance and resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns. In addition, this position will be responsible for cleaning the facility and always keeping it presentable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine tasks according to pre-determined daily, weekly, and monthly schedules and as directed to include but not limited to:
- Assist with basic IT requests such as running and testing new lines, terminating lines
- Level machines as needed
- Wiring pumps and minor electrical
- Minor mechanical repairs
- Basic preventative maintenance of machines
- Assists in basic repairs to the building including painting, installing/replacing light bulbs
- Repair on any safety concerns
- Cleans boil offs
- Maintain turret dust collectors
- Cleaning of company facility and grounds
- Adheres to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to department supervisor.
- Apply, recommend, and follow Lean practices.
QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge in the use and maintenance of machines and safety practices
- Interpersonal skills to handle different internal personnel and to meet requirements and customer satisfaction
- Ability to meet deadlines for completion of tasks in a timely manner
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS:
- High School education or equivalent, preferred
- 2 years of experience in a maintenance related environment, manufacturing preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting requirements include but not limited to the following:
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
