Precision Farming Specialist

Department: Product Support

Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Function: This position is responsible for the overall support of all precision farming related activities offered by CaseIH and supported by the company. This includes promoting, advising, and training both customers and internal staff on product offerings – both hardware and software, capabilities, and best practices to support the Precision Farming business segment of the company.

Duties:

• · Serve as the company expert in leading precision farming practices and product solutions
• · Ability to develop, promote, and sell precision customer support packages
• · Maintain “leading edge” image of the Company’s Precision Farming related suite of products and services
• · Provide high level of knowledge and expertise in all company offered precision farming solutions
• · Provide input on programs to increase market penetration of Precision Farming products
• · Assist customers with “best fit” products and related services
• · Advise customers on precision product utilization and optimization
• · Provide technical service and recommendations to customer base
• · Responsible for customer onboarding and familiarization with AFSC portal setup, navigation, and usage.
• · Familiarization with the collection and usage of digital field data
• · Organize customer demonstration and training activities to support precision solutions sales
• · Provide internal employee precision agriculture training as required
• · Develop professional liaison with CaseIH factory personnel and other specialists
• · Monitor competitive products, capabilities and pricing to maintain and improve the Company’s market presence
• · Assist in handling precision related customer concerns and complaints

Qualifications:

• Minimum BS –Agribusiness, or Agronomy (Crop/Soil Science)
• Experience with related precision farming equipment and geospatial data required. Field Agronomy experience useful.
• Strong agronomy/agricultural economics background, education, training and expertise
• Highly competent in precision farming practices
• Fundamental understanding of current and evolving GPS, sensor, automation, and AI technology
• Proficient understanding in the usage of Precision Farming hardware, products, and solutions
• · Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
• · Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• · Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• · Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
• · Able to work collectively with other team members
