Job description
Responsible to greet patients cordially, register patients efficiently, perform initial financial screening and counseling, obtain all needed signatures, and inform patients of Hospital admission and financial responsibilities, collect money due at the time of service. Converts outpatient to inpatient status and assigns correct bed, patient status and initiates authorization process. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High School Graduate or equivalent
Use of effective communication skills which foster positive outcomes
Knowledge of insurance requirements and/or third party reimbursement
Able to maintain a high awareness of patient satisfaction and team work.
Able to communicate effectively and demonstrate service excellence through appropriate response and use of constructive problem solving techniques when confronted with different people or situations
Able to pay attention to detail and work in a stressful environment
Previous computer entry experience and able to type 40 WPM with accuracy in spelling
Collections experience and Medical Terminology preferred
Must be willing to learn duties and responsibilities of other positions within the Admissions Department and to float to these positions when assigned
Must be flexible in work schedule showing ability to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts as needed for appropriate departmental coverage
