The groups of Brian Trewyn and Ryan Richards at the Colorado School of Mines are recruiting a joint postdoctoral fellow with a starting date anticipated in January 2023. Candidates should possess skills in several of the following areas: synthetic materials chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis, photochemistry, and characterization of nanoscale materials (TEM, SEM, XRD, BET, etc.). Additionally, successful applicants will have demonstrated writing, mentoring, presentation skills and an interest in taking a leadership role in an exciting interdisciplinary team.

The Colorado School of Mines located in Golden, Colorado is one of the top-rated Science and Engineering Schools in the country[1] with faculty that are both world-renowned researchers and accessible.[2] Further, the Department of Chemistry annually hosts the American Chemical Society Green Chemistry and Sustainability Summer School.[3] The front-range of the Rocky Mountains is a unique ecosystem of research activity with 33 national laboratories (one of the highest concentrations in the country)[4] including the National Renewable Energy Laboratory-NREL (~2 mile from campus), US Geological Survey-USGS (on-campus) and National Institute of Standards and Technologies –NIST (~18 miles) that have extensive interactions with Mines including, shared facilities, joint appointments, joint projects and co-advised students.
Golden is located at the along Clear Creek at the base of the Rocky Mountains and is widely considered one of the best places to live America for its numerous outdoor and cultural offerings.[1] Additionally, Golden is very accessible to Denver (~15 miles), Red Rocks Amphitheater (~5 miles), Rocky Mountain National Park (~1.2 hr drive) and numerous world-class ski and outdoor sports areas (Winterpark 1.2 hr drive, Copper Mountain 1 hr, Vail 1.3 hr, Breckenridge 1.2 hr).
