The Post Award Analyst provides support to the administration of grants at Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS). This role is responsible for providing support to grants activities including grant set up, monitoring, reporting and operations such as purchasing and subcontract management and monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Support adherence to YNHHS grant policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Serve as a resource to YNHHS staff on operational activities associated with grants management including purchasing and reporting.
  • In collaboration with Sr. Associate Post Award and Grants Finance, utilize appropriate YNHHS and grantor electronic systems to effectively manage awards, enter award data, and submit and/or report project activity.
  • Support abstraction of grant award and project information and maintain data and contacts in YNHHS systems including but not limited to the Grant Management system (e.g. Amplifund) expenses, invoices, payments and reports.
  • Support the compilation of data required for filing of grantor required reports by the grant Project Directors (financial, technical, progress) with the Grant Accounting Coordinator and in conjunction with other YNHHS departments.
  • Support the operational aspect of project closeout including maintaining files.
  • Assist with monitoring sub-recipients progress, reporting and activities and processing associated invoices for services funded under grant.
  • Provide support to information requests from grantors, which includes but is not limited to FOIA requests, revised budgets, additional supporting documentation or justification, etc.
  • Assist with monitoring of grant management calendar and dissemination of communications related to grant deadlines.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a healthcare environment. Demonstrated advance experience with Excel skills.
Experience with grants reporting, purchasing procedures and contracts highly desirable.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Ability to abstract and analyze excel data sets for discrepancies, variances and other numerical outcomes (Excel).
Knowledge of federal, state and sponsor regulations and guidelines pertaining to grant and contract administration and knowledge of grant and /or contract processes, procedures, and overall administration desired.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with demonstrated organizational skills.

Exceptional attention to detail, well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated superior customer service.

Must be comfortable working with individuals of all levels at YNHHS in a professional and courteous manner Ability to work well under pressure without sacrificing accuracy or customer service, handle a complex portfolio of work in an intensive, multi-tasking environment, work effectively as part of a team, and willingness to devote additional time to eliminate backlog, and support colleagues.

Working knowledge of award management. Thorough working knowledge of PC-based tools including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with grant/project and financial enterprise resource systems (e.g. Infor) a plus.

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND:

This position is co-terminus with available grant funding. This hybrid/remote position is co-terminus with available grant funding. Occasional weekend evening work required for meeting deadlines.
