Connecticut Orthopaedics is in need of Physical Therapy Aides to cover various shifts for locations including Hamden, Guilford, Branford, Milford and Shelton! Students welcome! This is an excellent opportunity that can allow a flexible schedule for students pursuing the field of PT/OT.
A Physical Therapy Aide is an entry level, temporary position that reports to the Clinic Site Supervisor. Physical therapy aides are members of physical therapy support teams. Working under the supervision of physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, P.T. aides perform nonmedical tasks, such as setting up and cleaning treatment rooms and transporting patients to different areas of a health care facility.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and manage the logistics of patient care throughout the facility.
- Applying heat and cold packs
- Maintaining accurate flow sheets for patient exercise
- Answering patient questions
- Directing patients as instructed by supervising clinician
- Maintaining a clean clinic environment, by performing tasks included but not limited to: laundry, routine surface cleaning, trash removal, organization of light equipment, organizing relevant patient health information, answering phones, assisting with patient scheduling, and low skilled supervised requests within the scope of the facility
- Performs other duties as assigned by their supervisor
