Pediatric and Adolescent Care of Silver Spring (PACS), a member of Privia Medical Group, is pediatric practice comprised of 7 pediatricians in Silver Spring, Maryland. PACS provides the full range of pediatric primary care services, including well visits, sick visits, immunizations, travel consultations, and more. All of our doctors are board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and are fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. We are known for our personal, patient-centered care, and our building relationships with our patients’ families.

We are a very busy practice in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a friendly and energetic Pediatric Telephone Triage Registered Nurse to join our team! This is a full-time in-office position requiring work hours of 8:00am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

· Provide clear empathetic telephone advice to parents and patients

· Use communication skills to assess, plan, implement, educate and evaluate patient outcomes

· Coordination of care between specialist, PCP, pharmacies, insurance companies and other entities

· Obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions and diagnostic imaging

· Assist pediatricians with any duties necessary both telephonic and in office

· Backup medical assistants in clinical area assisting with patients in office and performing lab duties such as obtaining vital signs, immunizations, blood draws, urine catherization and lead/hemoglobin testing.

· Provide prenatal tours of office to new expecting parents

· Telephone follow-up of newborns

· Other tasks as needed

Qualifications:

· Friendly and professional

· Superior verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent customer service skills

· Be comfortable working independently

· Ability to multi task with attention to detail

· Familiar and comfortable with current pediatric primary care protocols and clinical skills including: schedule of immunizations, common childhood illnesses and growth and development milestones

· Be able to apply empathy and troubleshoot difficult patient situations

· Familiarity with HIPAA

· Demonstrate the ability to be flexible

· Strong critical thinking skills

· Comfortable using Electronic Medical Record System
