Overview of Job Function:

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of monthly, semi-monthly/bi-weekly payrolls for 1,500+ multi-state employees in the US, Canada, and Mexico, in an efficient, accurate and confidential manner. The role works with payroll providers to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive initiatives to streamline payroll processes.
  • Enter payroll related changes (general deductions, garnishments) into the payroll system.
  • Calculate all salary related adjustments, including benefit deductions, and maintain proper authorizations for all changes to ensure accurate audit trail.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll related matters timely and troubleshoot as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in a multi-state, global payroll environment, with experience with ADP Applications, which include: Workforce Now, Enhanced Time, Reporting, GL Interface as well as ADP Streamline
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel)
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll practices including federal, state labor compliance laws and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret new payroll laws and guidelines, and work with HR to institute the relevant processes to remain compliant
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate issues or directives in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and understand the sense of urgency of related payroll requests and expectations
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Self-motivated, proactive and capable of working as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of HR and Payroll systems and process improvements
  • Certified Payroll Professional or Fundamental Payroll Certification
  • Spanish or Portuguese as a second language
