WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


The Hot Air Rotary Welder Operator is responsible for setting up, assembling, and welding all coated materials and work pieces. The Hot Air Rotary Welder Operator will work together as part of a team of other employees including Assemblers and production line employees. Employees in the Rotary Welding Department are responsible for rotary welding pieces of fabric that will be thermally bonded utilizing a hot air nozzle, whereas the Microwave Welders use different technology and procedures.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives and follows instructions for the work orders for each job.
  • Plans details of working procedures and material requirements.
  • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
  • Sets up, assembles and welds all parts and materials for each finished work product.
  • Rotary Welders are responsible for monitoring gauges to maintain correct temperatures.
  • In the event repetitive items are welded, automated welding may be utilized.
  • Responsible for keeping work equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Consistently monitors work machines, ensuring the work product it produces is the desired and correct welding by-product.
  • Responsible for moving and passing all welded products on to the next department in an efficient and timely manner so the other departments can complete their assigned duties.
  • Reports any quality control issues to management.
  • Ability to fully use and have manual dexterity of fingers, hand and wrist motions to handle and weld/assemble all work pieces and materials.
  • Whenever necessary, operates any work equipment essential to perform job-related duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to concentrate on detailed work for lengthy periods throughout the day.
  • The position requires varying degrees of precision, control and steadiness where damage could be considerable and is high risk exposure.
  • A necessary and key set of skills for the Welder’s position requires manual dexterity, extremely good vision/eye sight and hand/eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and logic to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or time‐related experience and/or training: or
equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with the assistance from co-worker after the final assembly of the work product.


Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust and focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, machines, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives. The employee will be required to steadily work with his or her hands during the welding process. The noise level in the work environment is very loud where ear protection may be necessary.
