We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Patient Care Technician to join the Mountainside Team!

Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
The Patient Care Technician will provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse to all assigned patients, and maintains a safe patient area.
The successful candidate will be able to:
  • Assist in the triaging of patients including admission, transfer and discharge
  • Report all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences of an urgent nature as they develop
  • Take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Assist with patient transport and transfer
  • Collect, report, and document clinical data
  • Adhere to safety and risk management standards
  • Assist with clerical and communication tasks to support patient care
  • Registers patients for inpatient, outpatient or emergency room services, obtains accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Copies insurance cards as required
  • Prepares ID bracelets and distributes with admission forms.
  • Provides patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Care Directives
  • Obtains appropriate signatures and copies and/or scans all identification and healthcare coverage presented. Documents reasons if this information is not attainable
  • Communicates all information and financial responsibility to the patient/guarantor
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned
Qualifications:
What You’ll Bring
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as an Emergency Department Technician
  • Licensure: EMT, EMT-P certification preferred, or equivalent training or hospital experience required
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Certified Nursing Assistant and/or nursing student enrolled in a Nursing program who has successfully completed theoretical and clinical practical in fundamentals of nursing in nursing school preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer/patient centric attitude
  • Perform other duties as assigned
