Job Summary:

The Parts Room Supervisor will assist in selecting suppliers, specify requirements, and issue purchase orders to support the parts including consumable supplies needed by the maintenance and operations plant. They will work with the Maintenance Manager as the liaison between the Plant and other departments. Specialist


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for purchasing inventory and maintaining inventory levels.
  • Maximize all product availability, inventory accuracy, inventory turn and internal customer service.
  • Identify and develop sound inventory management processes and procedures.
  • Implement layout of parts room to maximize efficiency
  • Keep organized at all times.
  • Maintain accountability for purchases, receipts, and returns or warranty parts
  • Ensures that proper procurement documentation and records are properly kept and updated on a timely basis.
  • Maintains a secure environment to ensure minimal shrinkage
  • Interfaces with all departments to ensure timely requisitioning, approval, purchase and delivery as well as storage of spare parts and all consumable products.
  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the Further Processing Plant and the Maintenance department
  • Seek out new vendors, suppliers and manufactures and negotiate terms and pricing for greater cost savings.
  • Check in parts and dispense parts as needed while updating inventory system
  • Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Responsible for daily UPS/Fedex pickups
  • Responsible for cycle counts
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • Inventory Management software experience
  • Strong Computer skills
  • Able to plan, organize and prioritize work load
  • Excellent customer service skills – internally and externally
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Must have good negotiation skills
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of basic chemical usage and safety
  • Independent Self Starter/Team Player
  • Mathematical skills: General Arithmetic/Basic algebra/Percentages/Fractions
  • Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, Touch Screens. CMMS Systems
  • Advanced English: fluent: speaking, reading and writing


Preferred


  • Bilingual
  • 2-year technical degree with 3 years inventory experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in a Maintenance Department
