Automotive Parts Counter Associate (Part-Time)

Reports To: Parts Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Part-Time Parts Counter Team Member is key to maintaining or creating customer satisfaction. This position supports the Parts Manager with stocking new deliveries, maintaining part bins, delivering parts, and pulling part orders placed by the automotive technicians and customers. Other duties may apply.

This position will work 2 - 3 days each week. Estimated weekly hours are 15 - 20 hours. No evening work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Greets customers at the parts counter window pleasantly and professionally.
• Receives incoming phone calls from retail and wholesale customers.
• Maintain parts shelf inventory
• Stock parts when they arrive, and help keep the parts room clean and organized
• Support the Parts Department Team with keeping up on putting parts in the correct bin.
• Take deliveries when needed.
• Complete all training as assigned and promptly.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.

All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be computer literate
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work/education

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experience using Dealertrack software desired
• Automotive parts product knowledge desired
• Able to maintain a sense of professionalism and a professional appearance
• Ability to stand and move around for the entire shift if needed
• Present a positive attitude and relations towards customers and other team members

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The employee will be standing or sitting at the parts counter for up to 100% of the shift and be required to lift, push, or pull weights over 40 lbs. Duties will be performed indoors in an area not cooled or heated by the building’s systems.
