About the Position:

• Developing, organizing, managing, and coordinating packaging projects
• Exhibiting innovation in discovery, advancing, and evaluating of new technologies in packaging material handling
• Providing innovative, timely, and cost-effective improvements, concepts, developments, or scientific insight and understanding for new or existing packaging and material handling systems
• Attend project team meetings to understand and communicate project updates
• Supporting technical analysis, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of packaging materials design and configurations (focus on Paperboard, Corrugate, and Plastics (film)).
• Working with an assigned manufacturing facility in supporting package performance including, documentation, communication, analysis, troubleshooting, and follow-up
• Identifying, evaluating, and implementing packaging innovation to align with company objectives and customer needs including cost, performance, functionality and design
• This role will interface with project teams that will include Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Packaging Engineering highly preferred
• 2+ years’ experience as a Packaging Engineer OR relevant degree with a strong internship in the field
• Applicants MUST be located within commutable distance of client site
• Clear understanding of packaging design, materials, equipment, and systems
• Experience leading and managing projects and project teams
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to travel overnight including weekends - approximately 20-40% of the time depending upon the project assignment
• Familiarity with various systems such as TOPS, SAP, and Microsoft Office
