The Oligo Research Associate is responsible for performing a variety of different scales of oligonucleotide purifications to support assay development teams and commercialization efforts. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, efficient, flexible, and able to perform key responsibilities in a fast-paced, team environment.

This position is part of the Bothell Chemistry R&D department and will be located in Bothell, WA.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Conduct HPLC purification of oligonucleotides within defined guidelines and assess oligonucleotides for quantity and purity.

• Document experiments, results, and findings of research data in laboratory notebook. Provide input on experimental design and suggest modifications in protocols or experimental methods.

• Operate laboratory equipment such as but not limited to: HPLC, LC/MS, UV-Vis Spectrophotometers, pH meters etc.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• B.S. in Chemistry or Biochemistry or similar science.

• Proficient in operation of automated HPLC (RP, IEX), spectroscopy (UV, Fluorescence) and LC/MS instruments as well as interpret data.

• Proficient in basic organic chemistry laboratory techniques.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Operate safely in a laboratory environment.

• Must be capable of multi-tasking, working both independently and within a team.

• Must have strong initiative and drive to complete challenging tasks and learn new technologies.
