Position Overview

Danville Correctional Center is seeking an energetic Office Associate to serve as a secretary to the Clinical Services Supervisor who is providing services for a growing population of individuals in custody. This position performs complex, specialized clerical duties in a wide range of areas within the Department. Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as secretary to Clinical Services Supervisor.
  • Keyboards and processes all reports and correspondence related to the Employee Review Board, Publication Review Committee and Freedom of Information functions performed by the Clinical Services Supervisor.
  • Organizes and maintains the filing of office documents and records.
  • Performs data input and information retrieval utilizing Offender 360 (O360) system.
  • Acts as receptionist for the department, screens phone calls and directs inquiries from individuals in custody, staff, individual in custody families, and outside agencies to appropriate staff.
  • Receives, screens, and distributes mail for clinical services staff.
  • Serves as backup to the Visitor Coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard 45 words per minute.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires the ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Department’s zero tolerance Drug testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.
