Position Summary:

This position supports the overall mission and vision of Catholic Charities and the Youth and Young Adult Services team. Primary duties include offering administrative support services to the Youth and Young Adult Services Program located in the East Yakima office for the delivery of core services and duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to Youth and Young Adult Services leadership for their contract deliverables and other priorities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Youth and Young Adult Services Case Managers for their contract deliverables and other priorities.
  • Clients first point of contact for information about the program and processing client intake information
  • Landlords first point of contact for information about the program and processing client intake information
  • Understanding program guidelines to ensure clients receive correct information on how to apply for programming
  • Screening and relaying incoming calls and emails.
  • Attending all staff meetings and providing program updates
  • Providing client support in filling out applications and processing paperwork
  • Comfortability with working with clients 18 years old to end of life
  • Comfortability in working with clients who may have a developmental disability, substance abuse or mental health issue
  • Drafting, translating and editing program materials.
  • Improving public awareness and communications countywide with positive community representation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, as well as keyboard fingering, talking, hearing and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.

Non-Physical Requirements:

Education

  • AA or AAS degree in Business, preferred but not required

Experience

  • Administrative Assistant preferred with 3 or more years experience in a business office as a receptionist or administrative assistant

  • Excellent organization skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively

  • Ability to maintain timely documentation and data entry into electronic databases
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural relevancy, diversity and inclusion
  • Work occasionally evening and weekend hours within the work week
  • Knowledge of professional development opportunities and resources for early care and education professionals
  • Demonstrated reflective practice skills with the ability to give and receive feedback
  • Maintain professional working relationships with child care providers, community partners and program stakeholders
  • Aptitude for learning new software programs and technology
  • Maintain confidentiality according to agency and program standards
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Valid Washington State drivers license and agency minimum required liability insurance

Employment is conditional upon:

  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
