We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team at Pinnacle Health and Rehab- North Berwick!

As an Occupational Therapist at Pinnacle, you will work in collaboration with a motivated and highly experienced in-house interdisciplinary team that's focused on excellent care and patient outcomes.

Our occupational therapists play an essential role in providing person-centered, short-term, and long-term rehabilitation services to our residents by designing and implementing a variety of programs and individualized interventions aimed at increasing the participation of residents in meaningful roles and occupations of daily life in order to improve their quality of life and satisfaction.


OT Responsibilities Include:
  • Evaluate Residents & develop treatment plans
  • Self-care training
  • Training resident's to maximize their independence with adaptive equipment
  • Environmental modifications
  • Prepare short-stay residents for safe discharge by refining IADLs related to the resident's environment
  • Teach functional mobility such as, using an ambulatory device and/or transfers to different surfaces, such as a bed, chair, toilet, or shower in order to perform self-care and personal tasks; and training in wheelchair mobility and safety appropriate for the resident’s level of cognition and perception
  • Assess the need for and recommend home modifications and safety equipment to reduce barriers and promote safe functioning upon discharge
  • Teach techniques to residents with cognitive deficits to maximize abilities in areas such as attention span, orientation, sequencing, and/or memory
  • Instruct residents and staff in proper techniques to improve positioning and maintain skin integrity
  • Modify the resident's environment and adapt tasks for safety (e.g., falls prevention)
  • Provide opportunities for engagement in meaningful activities
  • Monitor Residents as they carry out the task given to them.
  • Observe & assess Residents' progress and prepare detailed reports accordingly.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among the healthcare team & contributes to a team effort.

OT Requirements Include:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
  • Current Maine State OT License
