At Camp Lake Hubert for Girls, our Health Service Department at camp provides all the necessary services for campers and staff in a typical resident camp experience. Each camp has a functional Health Center in the middle of the camp, and is staffed with an RN and a nursing students, providing for a team approach that makes for a learning and fun experience.

• Under the direction of the Camp Nurse, assist in providing health care and first aid services to meet the needs of camp staff and campers.
• Assist with daily medication management.
• Help supervise and care for people admitted to the Health Center for care.
• Provide CPR and First Aid coverage as needed at designated times and locations.
• Provide direct care to staff and campers within the scope of their skills, the camp’s health care manual, and treatment procedures.
• Monitor and assist in maintaining health and safety practices while working in other areas throughout camp.
• Report any health problems or symptoms of illness to the Camp Director.
• Work with other staff to minimize/eliminate health and safety risks.
• Promote healthy habits to ensure the self-care of both camp staff and campers.
• The camps also have a resident camp physician, who does morning clinics at each site and is on call by cell phone for the rest of the day.
• Health Center has multiple bedrooms, a full bathroom and shower.

Qualifications

• Known as responsible, and strengths include attention to detail and being a team player.
• Able to work 8-10 weeks in Minnesota’s Northwoods and Lake Country.
• Understands that camp requires positive role modeling and service to children.
• Clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
• Women preferred; men with exceptional qualifications and able to thrive in a women-centered setting will be considered.

Our season begins in mid-May for camp preparation work and runs through the end of August. Room and board is included in all employment packages.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• nursing school: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CNA or EMT (Preferred)
