What you would be doing:

The nurse educator works closely with each department to identify education needs of staff and plans, conducts, coordinates, and evaluates our education programs. You would be responsible for the facility orientation program and monitoring/supporting new employees through their probationary period and to assure education hours and competency reviews are conducted annually.


What your work schedule would be:

This position typically works a day shift schedule but may vary on occasion to address training and education needs of the facility.


The successful candidate:

  • Has a minimum of two years of clinical experience working in a long-term facility with direct accountability for staff education.

  • Preferably has a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).

  • Preferably is certified to provide CPR instruction and certification.

  • Has excellent technical, assessment and documentation skills.

  • Has in depth knowledge of standards of practice and regulations for long term care..

  • Has the ability to read, analyze and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

  • Is able to communicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to resident, staff and others.

  • We also offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, and education. We anticipate the base pay for this position to be between $70,00 - $85,000. In addition to base pay, The Orchards employees are eligible for a performance-based annual bonus depending on their position.
