Job Summary
February 2023 RN Fellowship Program

- RN Fellowship Program Start Date: February 6, 2023

Pay Range
Minimum $33.61 Midpoint $43.69 Maximum $53.77
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
NICU - RN Fellowship – Clinical Nurse I or II, FT, Variable, 12 AWS
Our RN Fellowship Program is a 10-week program designed for the experienced nurse who wants to be trained in pediatrics or another specialty.
Reporting to the Manager of the RN Fellowship Program in collaboration with the unit leadership team, this position is responsible for the planning and delivery of family-centered patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Upon successful completion of the RN Fellowship program, the nurse transitions in to the unit of hire and reports to the Nursing Manager.
Qualifications
Required:

Clinical Nurse I Fellow - RN with at least 6 months but less than 2 years of acute care nursing work experience

Clinical Nurse II Fellow - RN with 2 years or more of acute care nursing work experience

California RN license
-
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an approved school (required for external applicants, preferred for internal applicants)

Internal applicants only (current CHOC employees ): Associate of Science in Nursing from an approved school is acceptable with BSN in-progress (BSN must be obtained by February 6, 2024)

Knowledge of and ability to provide appropriate family-centered patient care based upon age appropriateness and cultural and spiritual needs; Excellent customer satisfaction skills; Effective communication skills

Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner; Ability to work collaboratively and in a positive manner with others; Ability to prepare timely and accurate documentation and reports; Ability to perform work according to CHOC policies and procedures, professional standards of care, and applicable laws
