About Go Good Multnomah: Do Good Multnomah is a non-profit organization that partners with the community to provide supportive housing and low-barrier emergency shelter to houseless veterans in Portland, Oregon. SUMMARY: The Navigation Specialist will be a member of a dedicated team whose mission is to support those experiencing houselessness in our BHRC Bridge housing program. The successful applicant will work with Case Managers, as well as their own case load, to assist with participants’ housing search and placement while leveraging supportive services to assist the participant in maintaining permanent housing. Applicants will assist the Program Manager with program coordination, including document assessment and management for housing programs.


THE PROGRAM:

The BHRC is a designed safer place for people with behavioral health challenges, who may also experience complex trauma and houselessness. From the beginning, individuals with lived experience have influenced the program design, from architecture elements to program policy. Various stakeholders, including agencies and individual peer support specialists and peer advocates have provided input and guidance to ensure it is consumer/peer-driven, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible to all. The BHRC will prioritize meeting basic needs in the short-term, while working with partners to secure stability in the long-term.


What you’ll do:

  • Understand how to navigate the complexities of the Metro region’s social and housing services.
  • In coordination with Program Manager, ensure accurate and uniform daily participant roster management, as well as in-take, exit, and follow-up documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient physical and electronic records, including utilizing the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) to enter and exit participants from database, assigning incoming participants to case managers, and regular reporting functions.
  • Work closely with the Director of Operations and Housing Specialists to administer, track, and report Rapid Rehousing funds and outcomes.
  • Participate in on-going, recurring community partner meetings for both Veterans and non-Veterans, including Veteran Orientation.
  • Work with on-site community partners to identify opportunities to meet participant needs.
  • Perform case management reviews with case managers at least every other week.
  • Maintain effective communication with all relevant Director team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with all staff, programs, and community partners.
  • Other assigned tasks and duties appropriate to position.
  • Support and engage the Development Team and other Program Managers at Do Good fundraisers, activities, and other events.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations applicable to the program, and to Do Good Multnomah’s policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security.
