THE OPPORTUNITY:

The National Inclusion and Diversity Coordinator will provide support, under the leadership of the Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer and National Inclusion & Diversity Manager for Seyfarth Shaw’s Inclusion and Diversity initiatives. Focus will be on driving results for the firm’s National, Affinity-based, and local office Inclusion and Diversity-based programs and events, and liaising with recruiting, Talent Development, and Marketing and Business Development departments and the Office of Pro Bono in this process.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

On any given day, you will be working with firm attorneys and colleagues on a variety of requests and projects. You will:

  • Support and goal implementation through project management and coordination among the DIAT network and relevant Firm leadership and teams
  • Support through regular guidance provided to the national Affinity Groups; national DIAT leadership; and local DIATs, including the implementation of strategic business plans; coordination and planning of sponsored events and programs to achieve increased ROI and sense of community; and coordination of regularly scheduled meetings and associated follow-up. Additional support provided to Affinity Groups through contribution to their strategic agenda and individual groups’ internal growth objectives, such as pipeline building and retention, and external community engagement goals, i.e. national conference planning; goal setting; support; and analysis of ROI.
  • Partner in the development of data reporting structures for National teams and Firm leadership in collaboration with Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and Talent Development departments and Pro Bono office. Envision the data various stakeholders are looking for, how to present it, and conduct trend analysis on data to gather insights/conclusions to further develop firm’s inclusion & diversity strategic goals.
  • Coordinate internal education, development, and campaign I&D programs for Seyfarth with guidance from the Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer, the National Inclusion & Diversity Manager and National DIAT Leadership where applicable.
  • Coordinate efforts related to promoting the Seyfarth brand externally as it relates to inclusion & diversity, including coordination of information for annual reports, scorecards, surveys, and client or community requests. Coordination of national inclusion & diversity-related nomination responses with Marketing, Business Development Department chairs and Pro Bono subsequent accolade tracking and announcements.
  • Liaison between Recruiting and Talent Development pertaining to programs and initiatives to integrate inclusion and diversity, including on-boarding, the Rooney Presumption, Mansfield Rule, community-based national Affinity group pipeline support, opportunities to recruit through diverse job boards and conferences, Triad mentoring, the coaching program for women income partners, quarterly talent review updates, and summer fellow recruitment.
  • Assist the Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer in the creation and monthly monitoring of the department’s annual inclusion and diversity budget.
  • Oversees the inclusion and diversity conference registrations and sponsorships to ensure firm representation at external events and coordination of necessary details with Marketing and other firm departments.
  • Ensures inclusion and diversity section of the internal and external websites are regularly updated and current by providing information and working with relevant internal departments that manage such sites.

​YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience desired, preferably within a professional services firm, with program management, and diversity & inclusion experience.
  • Strong Project Management skills required.
  • Advanced organizational, administrative, and time management skills. Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the firm.
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred.
