Summary
Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation.
Be part of a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful allies for our clients. This position will support the assigned municipalities debris operations. The Liaison will play a critical role overseeing all activities involved with the disaster response.
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Assist on portions of projects and ensure all aspects are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
  • Attend meetings and conference calls with clients.
  • Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
  • Serve as a conduit of information and assistance between personnel and local city/county officials and organizations that are assisting, cooperating or stakeholders in the debris work.
  • Interface & coordinate with property owners and debris hauler regarding debris removal activity.
  • Assist in the public outreach efforts regarding the debris removal work.
  • Serve as SME for debris-related questions coming from public/property owners.
  • Serve as a field observer for ACDC & client agency management.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and manage specified needs relating to debris and public assistance.
  • Coordinate with local emergency management officials.
  • Provide updates and reporting on mission progress to state task force or other key stakeholders.
  • Provide situational awareness between the State and county responses.
  • Support county operations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
  • Capable of multi-tasking when necessary.
  • Strong familiarity and ability to liaise with state and local governments is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Assistance and Debris Management (Category A).
  • Understanding of local emergency management programs.
  • Experience with incident command and response systems.
  • Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong desire to help people.
  • Ability to be flexible and make quick decisions as disasters change and develop.

Experience and Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years professional experience in emergency management.
  • 1-2+ years’ experience in an emergency management liaison role or comparable.
  • 3-5+ years' experience and strong knowledge of FEMA debris/public assistance policies and procedures.
  • Completed NQS Type III Liaison Officer PTB or equivalent experience.
  • ICS/IMT specific position credentials.
  • Experience with disaster communications and relationship building.
  • Capable of critical decision-making in a highly charged and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.

Experience and Education Preferred

  • Applicable Certifications:
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
  • International Associate of Emergency Managers certification
  • Proficient with Salesforce.
  • Proficient with Web EOC

Expected Hours of Work
Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements
Deployment to client sites for extended periods of time is required.
Physical Demands

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check, ACDC background check, O365 basic skills assessment and reference check upon offer of employment.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
