National Buying Services is the department dedicated to acquiring the goods that our ALDI customers count on. Beyond working to secure quality products at the lowest possible prices through our Buying and support teams (Administration, Pricing, Merchandising, Quality Assurance and more), our teams ensure we are providing the best value and quality in everything we do.


Clean, transform and shape data within Excel to create outputs that support a rapidly growing Merchandising Team. Take your skills to the next level by learning and utilizing SQL Server, Alteryx, APT and others to generate internal and external reporting to equip leadership in data driven Merchandising decisions. Work Location: Batavia, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).


Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Consults with their direct leader to effectively design and streamline data management and analytical processes within the department.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert on technical and functional objectives within the department.
  • Liaises with stakeholders within Merchandising, National Buying, and Business Analytics as directed by their direct leader.
  • Liaises with marketing research firms and NIT, in consultation with their direct leader to ensure systems are fit for purpose and meet ongoing needs.
  • Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.
  • Develops and maintains extended knowledge of the greater National Buying Services and Operations departments to maximize efficiency in planogram development and related processes.
  • Manages technical and functional processes and systems such as Spaceman, APT.
  • Creates and maintains tools to conduct in-depth analysis of category performance.
  • Manages planogram data and supports the management of planogram building processes.
  • Creates and manages tools for National Buying Services and the committees that provide detailed analysis on ad-hoc project requests.
  • Maintains direct leader’s schedule and is aware of their daily engagements.
  • Provides cover within team, where necessary.
  • Develops, builds and maintains accurate product databases ensuring all product dimensions and images are up to date and live in the database at all times.
  • Develops, builds and maintains planograms utilizing the Spaceman Professional software in line with business deadlines.
  • Reviews planogram performance and space allocations by providing reports and analysis to management.
  • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
  • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising, Business or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Business required.
  • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.


Physical Requirements:


  • Work is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform duties.
  • Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
  • Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.


Travel:


  • Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work, and administrative tasks.
