Busy multi specialty surgeons practice in Concord / San Ramon, seeks a full-time experienced Medical Receptionist.


We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, friendly, and enthusiastic individual with a strong ability to multitask.


The qualified candidate must be hardworking, highly organized, self-motivated, and possess excellent communication skills.


Requirements Include:- Computer literacy- Excellent speaking, writing and typing skills- Good Knowledge of medical terminology- Strong interpersonal skills- Professional attitude and appearance-


Experience with EPIC software is preferred

JOB PURPOSE
:


  • Receptionist II will master or demonstrate mastery of the duties of Receptionist I; greeting and scheduling patients and visitors, bookkeeping, calling patients to remind them of appointments, handling billing, answering and routing calls, making transactions, and keeping paperwork organized. Requires 2 years medical office experience, and intermediate understanding of medical terminology. Additionally, Receptionist II can work with limited to no supervision, is able to triage urgent calls effectively by urgency, takes on additional tasks, such as; medical records, scheduling referrals, authorization and calling in prescriptions.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Greet incoming patients / check them in.
  • Obtain patient information, i.e., New Patient information Form, driver’s license, insurance cards. Review for completeness and accuracy at check-in.
  • Scan driver’s license & insurance card
  • Verify Demographics
  • Collect patient co-payments at time of check-in.
  • Inform staff of patient’s arrival.
  • Review & handle all messages faxed to the office by the Answering Service.
  • Non-office hour days – assist clinical staff as needed.
  • Answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs yourself.
  • Provide patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents.
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on Physician and PA/NP availability.
  • Maintain hard copy patient records as well as the files stored in our online Database.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.
  • Follows all HIPPA guidelines.
  • Compiles necessary medical records and sends to appropriate recipient.
  • All appointment notes should include: Reason for visit, Insurance, Referring Doctor, First and Last Name.
  • Send all necessary EPIC messages to each Medical Assistant.
  • Maintain cleanliness of front desk, and lobby area.
  • When scheduling appointments, verify/update patient information, as needed.
  • Escalate all urgent matters to management as needed.
