Position Summary: The Medical Practice Assistant for Home Visit Physicians answers phones and assists with wide range of clerical tasks.

Essential Functions:

1. Answers phones and handles messages

2. Enters referrals in EMR

3. Confirms patient appointments

4. Completes insurance verifications

5. Updates new patient information forms and mails/emails them to patients

6. Uses patient portal to export patient information and flag patients according to protocol

7. Manages phone calls and communications with other members of the team

8. Scheduler for Physicians

9. In EMR, routes faxes and processes emails in EMR messaging module

10. Runs reports as needed

11. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education or Degree Required: High school degree required, technical training or associate’s degree preferred

Experience Needed: Experience as administrative assistant or similar role required, healthcare setting and/or customer service role preferred; Excel (Formulas) a must!
