Ely Bloomenson Community Hospital is offering a full-time opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our growing organization. The MLT performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Must be skilled in Medical Equipment and testing protocols. Duties include collecting blood samples, documenting requests and results, performing tests, maintaining records, and instrument calibrations and maintenance. The MLT communicates with other health care providers, orders and stocks supplies, maintains a clean and safe working environment, and performs any other job-related duties specified by the supervisor. Adherence to the Laboratory's quality control policies and established policies and procedures is a must. All EBCH positions require a high degree of customer service orientation and strict adherence to confidentiality policies and protocols. Requirements
- Minimum Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school accredited by (NAACLS)
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency for laboratory personnel (NCA), or American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- Personnel receiving certification as an MLT after January 1, 2004 must be recertified every three years. To obtain recertification from ASCP, NCA, or AMT, 36 points of approved of continuing education over a period of three years must be documented and submitted to the certifying agency.
- Six months related experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
- Must be able to respond to call within 30 minutes
- Confidentiality of all EBCH information is mandatory, with a zero tolerance for violations.
