Job description

Duties and responsibilities:

· Performs selected nursing and clerical duties, and assist providers as part of the clinical care team

· Prepares patient charts prior to the visit and updates any information needed such as imaging, last medication refill dates, UA results, and other requests per the providers

· Prepares patients for examination and treatment by escorting them from the waiting area to the exam room and taking histories and vital signs

· Prepares, cleans, and maintains exam and treatment rooms

· Prepares and maintains clinical supplies and equipment

· Triages and responds to patient communications within practice policy

· Maintains strict confidentiality

· Prepares patient prescriptions as directed

· Sending telephone encounters to appropriate staff for continued patient care

· Assists the providers with examination and note taking

· Collecting urine samples and documenting the appropriate information required

· Process telephone messages from patients and calling pharmacies

· Monitors patients after procedures

· Assist patients with transfers

· Assist triage nurse with scheduling and anticoagulation patients

· Answer patient questions regarding treatment and procedures

· Stocks rooms and OR with supplies

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
