This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant who is looking for a full time, Monday-Friday position in the Jupiter area. This individual will support a busy ENT physician and 2 Physician Assistants. Must be a self-starter, multitask oriented, motivated, must be able to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.

Reconcile existing information for established patients manually or via patient portal. i.e. past medical history, current medications, surgeries and family history. Ensure appropriate boxes are indicated in EMR to document the scribe acknowledgement.

Accompany physician with the patient in examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.

Provide briefing of each patient prior to physician entering the exam room

Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

Properly document procedures performed by physician

Reviews charts at the end of patient encounters, verifying accuracy before physician signs off on chart note. Identify any discrepancies and/or missing information

Assist provider in exam rooms for procedures as needed (i.e. wax removal, biopsies, surgical procedures, etc.) obtaining proper consent forms and ensuring proper scope of practice is followed.

Room patients in an efficient manner to maximize clinical-flow, triage patients, take vital signs and enter required information into the patient’s EHR account (i.e. Chief Compliant, Patient’s Clipboard, Medication List, Allergies etc.

Sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC, ENTAAF and if applicable with Autoclave manufacturer requirements i.e. cold sterilization autoclave.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum one year HANDS ON Medical Assistant experience. Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Strong Written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians and team members. MUST have EMR experience. Must be current with your Medical Assistant certification or willing to participate and pass our in house 1 year employee commitment training course and National test.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds.

Starting range $17.00 based on experience.
