Responsibilites/Scope:
- Operate large-scale, high-speed, digital printing systems utilizing ink, toner or inkjet printing technologies.
- Prints assigned jobs in accordance with department quality standards and procedures. Visually inspects work to confirm results meet job specifications.
- Responsibility for the printed art, maintenance and interaction with the software that runs the printing and maintains the quality of the final printed art.
- Performs basic printer troubleshooting and equipment maintenance tasks.
- Make any needed image positioning, image quality & color adjustments to ensure quality. Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality.
- Dealing with Complexity, informing Leadership, Supervision, Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Presenting Technical Information, CAD.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by reviewing production and maintenance schedules.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
- Develop, configure and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and commissioning.
- Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
- Provide process documentation and operating instructions/training.
- Troubleshoots day-to-day process problems, initiates solutions, and follows-up to evaluate effectiveness of changes to ensure practical assembly, testing, storing, packing and moving of production material within the facility.
- Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics.
- Provides technical expertise to support plant process development and design, including plant layout creation and maintenance in AutoCAD, CAD based process flow modeling, and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Assists in technical assignments involving minimizing the manufacturability and maintaining timely product flow for assigned production lines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers.
- Works with support teams to improve cycle times and reduce defects towards customer quality and efficiency.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Maintains control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
- Diagnose problems when machinery malfunctions, conduct electrical repairs (i.e., wiring), complete work orders, monitor production equipment.
- Maintain all the Process Control systems, calibrate all critical control equipment and documents finding, evaluate PLC equipment, program, and integrate the PLC systems. Program and integrate the Automation systems.
- Set up and implement preventive maintenance procedure for process control systems (PLC, identify areas to be improved in the process systems makes recommendations and implement approved changes)
- Train Maintenance personnel (PLC and Electronic equipment). Complete calibration, project, and equipment status reports
- Work closely with the contractors on new electrical and electronic installations.
- Comply with Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Basic understanding of color management- Photoshop Artwork files, concept of color matching, Delta E, CMYK color curves, light booth etc.
Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical)
- 3+ years relevant work experience in process engineering
- 1+ year experience with mass production semi-automated equipment used in Semiconductor, Flat Panel Display & Solar industries.
- Preferred experience with graphic art printers, industrial presses, medium format UV color printers, inkjet printers, printhead systems, ink delivery systems, preferably digital printing, surface finishes.
- Operational Knowledge of color management solutions.
- Adept at dealing with Hardware & Software Industrial automation i.e., good understanding of complex optical, electromechanical & software functionalities/subsystems & their interactions in a complex manufacturing equipment (e.g.- sensors, drives, actuators, PLCs, electronic cards)
- Understand mainframe and server-based print streams, job tracking and camera systems.
- Good documentation skills in making SOP’s, reports, Preventive Maintenance procedures.
- Machining or programming experience is a plus.
- Must have worked in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, organization & data summary skills.
- Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Component, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic technical knowledge.
- Knowledge of the PLC programming language.
