Job description

Responsible for managing the day-to-day work of a single large or multiple small department(s) involved in the production of high quality ceramic products, including directing the activities of worker, monitoring departmental headcount and budget, and ensuring product meets quality and on-time delivery requirements. Leads and encourages a collaborative team environment dedicated to meeting departmental goals and objectives.

• Oversees the work of assigned department(s) with supervisors/leads reporting to them; highest level of employee supervised is either hourly or exempt level supervisors.
• Sets direction and priorities based on business strategy
• Responsible for the unit/department budgets, schedules and planning.
• Leads, coaches and provides effective feedback.
• Trains, assigns duties, and supervises employees engaged in production.
• Supports and creates effective teams, units, and environments.
• Impacts and promotes organizational strategy and vision.
• Helps employees understand how they impact business strategy.
• Completes objectives through supervisors or exempt specialists who have significant latitude.
• Meets or exceeds quality standards; seeks to minimize error rate.
• Participates in continuous improvement efforts. Supports and helps to implement new ideas.
• May be responsible for multiple shifts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience:

• Minimum five years’ prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
• Possesses the ability to use the computer system for departmental functions.
• Performs detail-oriented tasks utilizing high language and math skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $99,962.00 - $131,950.00 per year
